Omschrijving:Bes -Egyptian God of Protection and Fertility Bes the God of Protection, is often depicted on Magic Wands. He was thought of as a Good of Good Humor for he drove away Evil. He was the Consort of Tawaret the Hippo Goddess for a time. Together they were the Granters of Fertility, protectors of Mothers in childbirth, and of Newly Born Babies. In their Veracity they drove away the Evil Spirits that might take the child's life in those first crucial days. If a child laughed or smiled for no seeming reason it was thought that Bes made them do it by jumping and making funny faces at them. [aprox. 1-1/2" high]
